High school senior Travis Cody lives in Oil Camp, Louisiana, where football is king. Travis's team has just made it into the playoffs for the Louisiana AA State High School Football Championship, where they will once again meet their rivals, the Pineview Pelicans, the only team to defeat Oil Camp during the regular season. That one loss haunts Travis, who blames himself for not playing tough enough against Pineview's star, Jericho Grooms.
